Podcast Project

Psychology For Dummies by Dummies

About this Podcast

This podcast is designed to answer the question: What is the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath? To help me answer this question, I invited the one person I know who is just as interested, if not more interested, in this topic: My mom. As weird as it sounds, I knew she would be the perfect guest because we have these sort of discussions all the time. We are both obsessed with crime/psychology podcasts, shows, and documentaries. Together, we do our best to educate the public about DSM-IV, also known as Antisocial Personality Disorder.

Podcaster Bio

My name is Emma Sayar, I am 18 years old, and I currently attend Los Altos High School as a senior. Some of my interests include making short films, napping, and being with my friends. Another one of my interests is reading and hearing about crime stories, specifically with the mind of someone with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD). I remember always hearing the terms psychopath and sociopath being loosely thrown around and I wanted to do more research into why and what the difference was.

Introduction

The reason we are doing a Podcast project as a class, is to learn how to find a topic that interests us and roll with it. That includes doing a lot of research and lots of preparation. I think my main source of inspiration for my Podcast is Wine and Crime. This podcast is about three women from Massachusetts who are just generally interested in certain crime topics. Although most topics are gruesome and intense, they find a way to make it light-hearted and fun to learn about some of these topics.

Reflection

I think the Podcast Project was one of my favorite English Projects because of the freedom it gave us. We could choose any topic we were interested in, and other people made amazing podcasts. I believe that the best work is always created by passion. It was difficult at some times, but the finished product was worth it. Overall, this project was so much fun, and it might lead me to create more podcasts.
