After reading Slaughter House Five and The Importance Of Being Earnest, we were tasked with creating our own comedic piece. The piece could be anything from a comic to an advertisement to showcase our new understanding of humor.
Comedic Influences
Ryan Higa
John Mulaney
For our project we chose the two comedians John Mulaney and Ryan Higa. Ryan Higa is a youtuber that creates a variety of entertainment ranging from sketches to challenge videos. John Mulaney is a stand up comedian who derives his stories from his experiences.
Process
We came up with the idea of satirizing medical commercials and decided to make our own ad. We wrote up a script for our project and filmed all of the footage. We then edited it all together to create our final product which can be viewed below.

Reflection
I really enjoyed creating this ad and getting to have a little more fun with my friends before the school year comes to an end. It was also really interesting to read Slaughter House Five and The Importance Of Being Earnest to learn more about the different types of comedic techniques.
