Welcome to Narrative 2, the project we’ve been working on for about 6 months now, or right after reflections ended. Which is pretty crazy to think about. A lot has happened in that half of a year, I’m still working away at the Narrative film, I’ve started the morning announcements, I love taking photos and my hair has grown out. A lot. This unit was all about furthering our skills, really putting them to the test. And in doing so we’ve made some pretty cool pieces of content.

Worldbuilding!
Worldbuilding is one of my biggest passions, I craft massive worlds in Dungeons and Dragons.
I love learning about really good magic systems, or hour long + video essays on Youtube about different aspects of worldbuilding. The idea of creating a world from our imagination is fascinating for me. The goals of this project were to input fascinating and powerful stories of really good complex and deep worldbuilding and output a world we could be proud of carrying over the techniques and lessons we learned from those stories.
The world I teamed up to make with Sabrina and Estelle was a powerful one. One built with our collective ideas of Solarpunk, environmentalism and greenwashing that we did for our essays last unit. We combined them into a world we created, of a futuristic magical Solarpunk world with deep corruption. We then created a narrative about the world, that helped show some of the world we created, I really wish we could’ve shown more, but a lot of what makes a world interesting to me, the everyday boring aspects, stories don’t find very interesting. We wrote about the calendar, and the religions, the concepts of gender and expression, the job and work week and culture, how cities are constructed and how people live. We really only scrapped the surface when it came to the narrative.

Surreal Composition Project
Learning how to create a Surrealistic image was really fun, and although I’ve always had a little trouble creating surrealist or experimental projects, I had a great time with this one. I really want to make something that was a portal to elsewhere. An escape of the regular world.
We also had the chance to make a music project! I got to work with Sabrina on this project where we came together to make one of Laufey’s iconic songs. So together with Elizabeth Wheeler, Ori Arel, Grace and Vaughn we created our own cover of it. You may have heard of it.
Multi Layered Art Project!
This project changed a lot from its original idea. I originally had a full city, around in a circle with layers of depth. As I slowly started to make it I realized the level of detail I wanted, I would never get. So last minute I changed projects and decided to make a worker in a field. I love it so much, he walking along with his little dog.
I havent finished this project yet, but Im almost there, designing and constructing the final pieces.
FILM
We have spent the last 6 months writing, scripting, blocking, designing, shooting and editing this film. A massive undertaking for a massive project which I am still underway. The film isn’t done yet, we haven’t finished filming yet but were slowly getting there.
