About this Podcast:

This podcast is about the infamous criminal, Janne Hamppunen, who became the most wanted Finnish criminal, and rose to fame on social media while on the run from the authorities.

Podcaster Bio:

Hi, I’m a Finnish American student attending Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. I’m going to attend an art school in the UK next, and hopefully will be able to create one of the comics I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve always enjoyed a good story, with a knack for comedy, which has created an interest in things like history and true crime for me, especially the more ridiculous events that have occurred.

Introduction:

This unit, we decided to explore the medium of podcasts, where we’d have to limit ourselves through a purely auditory format. My intention for my podcast is informing people about a more lighthearted true crime story, that hopefully, anyone will be able to listen to. My main inspiration for this podcast was the Jenna Julien Podcast, as I’ve been listening to it for the past few years every Tuesday while painting at the atelier I go to. My favorite episodes have always been the ones where they tell a story or explain something to each other, and I wanted to emulate that in my own podcast.

Reflection:

I valued having to limit myself to an audio-only format, being such a visual person, was a bit challenging, but I enjoyed the process nevertheless. I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted to do from the beginning, so my process was mainly me trying to narrow my idea down and getting it on paper, and then audio. Something I did and would recommend to other people recording podcasts for the first time is, choosing a podcast you listen to or have in the past at one point or another, and using that as your “model”, to help you build up and create your podcast.
