Photo Haiku<\/h1>\n

In our poetry unit in English, we started out by creating haikus based on concept statements that we drew from a bag. Mine was I am exploring the feeling of curiosity through preserving memories<\/strong>.\u00a0We were challenged to use kireji and kigo, which are techniques used in traditional Japanese haikus. Kireji is used as a cutting word, transitioning or connecting two lines that would otherwise be separate clauses. Kigo is a word that is directly or indirectly associated with a specific season.<\/p>\n

We were challenged to experiment with photography in order to take a picture to illustrate some of the ideas in our haikus. Later in digital media, we created a video with voice overs, effects, and music as an introduction to editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. All of our videos were posted to Freestyle’s youtube channel after we created the final products.<\/p>\n
