My name is Janine and I am a senior at Freestyle Academy where I take classes in English, Digital Media, and Design. I like to spend my free time taking candid photos, running over hurdles, playing cello, reading, and playing board games. I am passionate about everything related to creativity and design thinking. Over the past few years at Freestyle, I have been able to experiment with creating various kinds of art from a documentary book in Design class to parody songs in Digital Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking forward, I will be attending University of Illinois Urbana Champaign next school year studying Computer Science and Economics. I am extremely excited to study these two fields and find ways to combine computer science with design by exploring human computer interaction research and the UX design field as a possible future career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Showcase Video &#8211; Logo Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this video, I will be showcasing my Product Design project from design class. I created a brand logo and mockups of the product and other merchandise. I enjoyed the challenge of creating a brand identity and then communicating the goals of the brand through the logo and label designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"22 23 p8 Showcase JanineL\" width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jvOt5Lc2qi8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Showcase reflection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through making this showcase video I was pushed to find ways to present my work and process in a way that would be easily understandable. I enjoyed getting to use After Effects to play with the timing of additional graphics like stars to indicate what I was talking about in the video. The product design projects at Freestyle Exhibition were what made me originally want to come to Freestyle. Now that I have completed this project, I am proud of the results and hope that my work can inspire others too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This video is a reel of a variety of artwork I have created featuring work from design class, digital media class, and personal projects. Seeing all the work I am most proud of, I am thankful that Freestyle allowed me to explore so many different forms of art. One project I am most proud of, although it may seem small, is my personal photography. I feel that practicing photography over the years has allowed me to develop a personal style and it is something I find a lot of joy in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past two years at Freestyle, I have learned to persevere. Before Freestyle, I had no art experience and didn&#8217;t think of myself as an artsy or creative person. However, pushing through difficult projects challenged me to use my brain to come up with creative ideas and solutions to problems. I am grateful for the time I have had here at Freestyle and will bring the lessons I learned in perseverance and persistence with me moving forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!
