Reflections

The reflections unit was about learning about ourselves with different projects, I found many of the projects this unit to be good practice with using different programs. In Animation I think I learned the most, in the beginning of the school year I felt completely lost with using Maya and Zbrush but now I can create rig-able characters.

Animation

I valued being able to develop my skills in 3D modeling. I’m proud of what i was able to make after I learned the platform better. I also took the time to watch many online tutorials to get the final products that I wanted to achieve. A lot of my time went into creating these characters and finding out the logistics of modeling them and preparing for animation. I watched many tutorials to learn how to model hair in ZBrush, and I also made sure to make different versions of the hair so I can choose the best one for artistic shots vs animating.

Photoshop Art Section

I used this unit to to help me practice with painting with Photoshop, I’m already fairly used to painting with photoshop. I valued being able to play with lighting and that I was able to have fun with this assignment.

Mandala

This was an exploration into using Adobe illustrator’s symmetry tools, this project was challenging to me because I’m not familiar with how to draw in illustrator, it is surprisingly different to Adobe Photoshop.

My mandala is called Cicadas in Summer, I think how Cicadas live most of their life underground only to come up after seventeen years to scream. It’s entertaining but also sad to me. The main goal of most creatures is to replicate at any cost for some odd internal reason. I think Mandalas are very organic, just like nature. There’s many sign of symmetry in nature so I decided to base my mandala off of something in biology

Perspective Opinion Video

The purpose of this project was to practice our skills with Adobe After Effects, I used the recording of my essay about my experiences with animals. Working with animals is really important to me.
