About this Podcast:

In this podcast, I talk about one of my favorite albums and why I like it so much.

Podcaster Bio(s):

My name is Josh Mintz and I am 18 years old. I go to Mountain View High School. In my free time I like to play videogames and listen to music with my friends. I listen to a variety of different genres of music, but I tend to listen to rap a lot of the time.

Introduction section:

We are doing a podcast unit because podcasts are a pretty unique form of media. Making a podcast is like trying to make a movie, but without the visual part. The challenge becomes, “how can I tell a story with only sound?” rather than “How can I tell a story?” Podcasts in a way can be more immersive than a film because it is forcing the viewer to make an effort to visualize what the podcasters are talking about. One of the biggest inspirations for my podcast is TheNeedleDrop on youtube. His channel is dedicated to reviewing music both new and old. I decided to make my podcast about the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album because I STRONGLY disagree with his opinions on the album.

this is what my pro tools session looks like for this podcast. I recorded the audio in one of the recording booths at freestyle and I found intro music online.

Reflection:

I enjoyed this project because it let me talk about something I am passionate about. I would recommend first time podcasters going in with a script or at least a very thorough outline. I had scripted the first few minuets of mine and had some rough notes for the rest. I ended up repeating myself a lot because I ran out of things to say. Overall I had a fun time during this unit.
