Introduction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I really loved that this was the unit we ended on. In this section, we explored the idea of “How can you find, explore, and\/or expand your passion?”<\/em> Thanks to Freestyle I have grown so much as an artist and as a person, the work I was able to produce is something I am really proud of and the best time I think I’ve had this year because there was so much left to my own devices. The vague prompts allowed me to explore creative facets of myself that I have yet to delve into. I explored my thoughts on femininity, being a friend, and just expressing myself in general and it was a great way to reflect on how I’ve grown this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lyrical Essay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This lyrical essay was the result of a notes app late night word vomit and receiving the assignment the morning after. I knew I wanted to get a deeper grasp on the emotions that had come to bay as I started to reflect on my personal growth and scope of events that had been surrounding me at the time. I aimed to write this in a way that would make sense as I performed it aloud since the presentation aspect of me is second nature. It is more poetic than anything, and feels like it just scratches the surface of being a teenage girl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music Production<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ben and I decided to create this because it played to both of our experiences as musicians. We weren’t sure what to do about this song so we threw a couple ideas out there and landed on this song that was a mix of basic pop and harmonious chords. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explorations Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the explorations project, film students were tasked to research an aspect of filmmaking that we are relatively unfamiliar with. I really enjoyed this experience because I got to expand my knowledge and have a newfound appreciation for the art of costuming and the way it is a very under appreciated aspect of filmmaking. Something I also noted was keeping a small, sustainable budget as an independent filmmaker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
