Introduction

My proflie project was done on Vicki Amon-Higa. I specifically chose her as we had worked closely together before, and she had made an impact in my life. She runs a program called Animal Assisted Happiness (AAH), a non-profit organization that uses farm animals as therapy for children with special needs. Her goal with Animal Assisted Happiness is to create one million smiles through private visits to the AAH ranch and visits to schools and other programs. She hopes to eventually expand nationwide and continue to spread joy through animals.

I created this magazine in InDesign. We were given a template and then told to choose a color scheme using either Adobe or the Pantone books. I ended up using Adobe to choose my color scheme and chose the final products based on the colors that were presented to me at the Animal Assisted Happiness farm. There was a learning curve for me, creating my own drop cap in Adobe Illustrator, especially since my profile started with an uncommon letter. However, I managed to make it work. Overall, my magazine came out very well, and I am honored to have it featured in the Freestyle magazine.
