Project 1

Self Portrait:

This website follows our first unit at Freestyle as juniors, the self-portrait unit. This website’s goal was to present our artwork and writings to our viewers. The artwork and writings we made during this unit were intended to get people to understand us by introducing them to our family, friends, websites we follow, and showing them a diptych we made that expresses an aspect of our personality. A highlight of my site is my web gems page because it was fun to share and bring attention to the websites I enjoy viewing. Also the Diptych I made for this unit is my favorite I made during my junior year at Freestyle. This site especially was a great way to break away from some of the shyness I had regarding sharing some facts about myself, this site allowed me to open up in that aspect because it was solely based on me.

Project 2

Narrative:

For our Narrative unit at Freestyle was designed to hone our skills at storytelling. We did this in a variety of ways including creating a short graphic novel, writing a short story, and then translating that graphic novel into a Flash animation for our Web/Audio class. A highlight on my website would be my Flash animation because it brings my graphic novel to life through the use of Adobe’s flash animation program. This unit was very technically challenging for me, using Flash proved to be a great challenge for me as it is a very complicated program that requires patience and knowledge.

Project 3

Documentary:

For our Documentary unit we had to find a local issue that needs attention, and we gave the issue attention by documenting it through a research paper we wrote for English.  The research paper as well as our podcast featuring pictures we took of our subject in our Documentary unit is all on our websites we designed around this unit. A highlight of my website is my slideshow podcast. The podcast I made is a great way to get a quick recap on my the subject of documentary because it is a shortened version of my research paper cut down to the basics of what I want the listener to understand about my issue. This unit was a way for us to get more personally involved in the community by bring attention to an issue that most people overlook.

Project 4

Experimental:

Our experimental unit was the last unit and concluded our Junior year at Freestyle Academy. This unit was as the name suggests, experimental. We experimented with telling poetry, writing songs, creating music, and artwork. For web/audio we put all these onto different sections of our website. We made custom background for our poems and we also made an animation for one of them. The highlight of my experimental website would have to be the artwork I made. It turned out to be one of the best pieces of art I have made at Freestyle so far. I really enjoyed the experimental unit and my website this unit turned out to be one of my best. This unit helped me learn more creative ways of expressing myself, especially through the poetry we wrote, it was an extremely enjoyable experience.

Project 5

Profile:

Check out my profile website! For this unit I did a profile on a man named Daniel Green; who is a local world record holding powerlifter! Check out my website to learn more about him and his contributions to the sport of powerlifting. For this unit we had to write an essay in English, and then turn that essay into an article in Design class. Afterwards in Web/Audio we adapted our English paper into a presentation using Adobe After Effects.

Project 6

Music Video:

This was a very unique unit, we combined with the Film students to create our own orginal Music Video. I have no experience with music and I don't really hae an interest in creating it either. So this unit was a struggle for me because I found it hard to contribute to my grou, but one way I did contribute was by creating this website (which I really like). This is probably one of my favorite websites I've created, so check it out! You can find the music video along with the artwork I created for it.

Project 7

Narrative 2.0:

For this unit we created an animation for the narrative created in English. The animation was created mainly in Adobe After Effects but I created all the artwork for it in Adobe Illustrator. As a counterpart to our Narrative we created a Book Jacket for our narrative as if it was a real published book. In addition to all of this you can find a piece of surrealist artwork I created. Project 8

Explorations:

For this unit we did a variety of things at Freestyle. We did both experimented with Humor and "Amplified" artwork. The amplified artwork is part of the Blink unit in which we read a book called "Blink" by Maclom Gladwell. Then in Web/Audio I created an extra special website, I wanted to focus on learning some Javascript so I dedicated a site towards utilizing Javascript with animating objects. Hello!

This is my senior year project listing page! This page consists of our eight total projects we have completed at Freestyle Academy. Our Self Portrait unit, Narrative unit, Documentary Unit, and Experimental Unit were are first four units at Freestyle. Our next four units at Freestyle this year will be my Profile units, Music Video unit, Narrative unit, and Exploration unit.

The “Project 1” button will bring you to my self-portrait website which is presents our artwork and writings to our viewers. The “Project 4” button will bring you to our experimental website that allowed us to experiment with telling poetry, writing songs, creating music, and artwork. Our experimental website was a way for us to conclude our year at Freestyle be letting us utilize and demonstrate our new talents we have honed throughout our first year at Freestyle
