Two works that I would NOT add to my personal museum are Cy Twombly’s untitled work, and Isamu Noguchi's “Cronos”. At first glance, these pieces are very visually unappealing in my opinion, since they don’t use a variety of colors, it didn’t fit my personal artistic style. Even though the artists may have had intention of incorporating deep meanings in the artwork, it all depends on the way that it is translated into a physical medium. I understand why people would personally appreciate lots of guessing and deep thinking, because it is an important aspect of modern art, but if what I’m looking at is a bunch of scribbles or a statue with simple shapes and nothing really visually pleasing, it won’t grab my attention, and even if I tried, I wouldn’t be able to see the connection between the artwork itself and the description.
