Albert Gwo

My profile star is Albert Gwo. He is a very talented swimmer who has won a multitude of awards for his accomplishments. Most importantly though, he is my best friend. I met him in my freshman year Mandarin class and we have been great friends ever since. I chose him as my profile subject because he is a very interesting character who has a lot to offer. Most people know him just for his swimming, but as you will come to realize though exploring my website, there is so much more to him than meets the eye.

This is a small commercial that I made in Adobe AfterEffects featuring Albert. I took the pictures when I observed him at a swim meet in September. The other photos were taken when we went on a hike at Rancho San Antonio.

This is a magazine article that I wrote featuring Albert. I designed the article in Adobe InDesign and used Adobe Photoshop to edit the photos I put in the piece. The article itself came from an assignment we did in English in which we were supposed to practice writing a profile article. We learned the parts of a good profile and looked over many good examples from established profile writers such as Chuck Klosterman.

Albert Gwo

Albert Gwo is my best friend and also an olympic caliber swimmer. He enjoys playing frisbee, hanging out with his friends and spending time developing the many ideas he has. He will be studying engineering at UC Berkeley starting in the fall of 2016.

Hana Brett

Hana Brett is Albert’s teammate at the Palo Alto Swimming and Aquatics (PASA) club. She and Albert have grown very close in the four years they’ve spent on the team together. She has been Albert’s go-to teammate for advice and support.

Nik Lee

Nik Lee has been one of Albert’s close friends since sophomore year. He and Albert play frisbee together and go on hikes whenever Albert has time. Nik wishes, like all of us, that he could spend more time with Albert than he does already. Now that Ablert has signed his letter of intent to Cal, Nik wants to be able to go on a roadtrip with Albert.
