Our assignment to start the year in film was to make a humorous short movie! Since I am a first year student, this also happened to be my first film project in general. It was a lot of learning while doing but I am happy with how it turned out! After application season, I hope to do another round of editing to bring some more absurdity back from the rough cut and emphasize the stupidity of Mimi– the AI agent.

The very first day of film class, we broke into groups of 2 seniors and 2 juniors to make a short video about getting from point A to B. Other than that, we could do whatever we wanted. Our group, inspired by the Office’s parkour episode and American Ninja Warrior, made a dramatic parkour competition. Here it is:

Surround Sound Practice
One of our assignment this quarter was to make a short video and add some audio that would match up with the positioning and movement of it. Our hope was to utilize the 9.2.6 surround sound space Mr. Taylor has. I folded some paper airplanes, took a video of them, then added various plane engine sounds. Here it is:
