I am unsure of what I want to do in college, so I thought it would be a good idea to do this project so then I can learn more about what I would be doing if I did go into this field. Throughout this project, I improved on the 21st Century Skills of Visual Literacy and Technological Literacy. I learned a ton about Illustrator, and greatly improved upon my skills.

Here are some insights into the process that I went through creating my final products:

Final Products:

Here is my final Explorations Presentation:

Bistrain_Kayla-Explorations PresentationDownload

Overall, I learned a ton from this project and I very much enjoyed doing it. I hope to continue my projects in the future and keep creating art on Adobe Illustrator. I greatly benefited as a digital artist because I have learned a ton more about the softwares, and I have learned a lot so that I can continue improving on my skills. I also think I learned a lot about myself because I had to fully create this project and idea on my own. I learned a lot about my attention to details, time management, and how I go about doing things. I hope that in the future for my Zenith Project I can continue learning about myself and improving my skills even more.

Experimental Music

For this assignment, we were tasked with creating an experimental song, with all of the virtual instruments that we learned about. I decided to make this song unlike your traditional song, and instead with a lot of suspense and horror. I enjoyed the process with this song, and I think the virtual instruments add to the funny experimental vibe.

Listen to my song!

Some behind the scenes of the Pro Tools interface

Through this project, I learned a ton and I was able to improve on my skills with Pro Tools. It is not easy in the slightest, so I struggled a ton with this application at the beginning of the year. Now, I think I am a lot more skilled, and it is a lot more straightforward for me. Making a song has never been something that I have taken an interest in before, however the process is quite interesting and I know in the future I have the skills to make another song if I want to. This song is meant to be creepy and my inspiration for it is Stranger Things. I did not want it to resemble a traditional song, but instead tell a story. This song is meant to go from normal and happy to scary and suspenseful. I had a fun time with this song, and I hope to create more songs in the future.

Introduction For this project, we were tasked with the question,“How can you find, explore, and/or expand your passion?” I chose to explore my passion with space and rockets, and I tried to improve my skills with Adobe Illustrator to draw and design a fully functional rocket.
