Welcome to my website! Within this site are links to eight websites that I have created (or will create, depending on what the time is) at Freestyle Academy. Which site refers to a specific project that I have done. In my two years at Freestyle I have made two narratives, a profile of someone in my community, a documentary on one of my favorite places - the Winter Lodge in Palo Alto - and many more projects that express who I am as a person and my artistic abilities. To create these websites I used Dreamweaver and decorated them with images made in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Enjoy!

Here is my Self-Portrait website. This is the first project I did in my junior year of high school. The goal was to express who we are through a metaphor. We made diptychs, illustrations, and an essay about ourselves. Looking back on it, I now don’t think it is a very good representation of who I am because I have learned and done so much since this project was made. I am proud of what I was able to accomplish with what I knew back then. I you want to view my website, click the link below!

Here is my first narrative website. In english class we wrote a graphic novel based off of a character we created. Then we took that graphic novel and made a portrait of our characters, illustrated a scene, and created an animated short. This is probably the project that I am most proud of from junior year. This is my Documentary website. This project was probably the most time consuming project that we did in junior year. The project was to take a place in the community and do a documentary on it. I chose to document the Winter Lodge, which is located in Palo Alto and is where I figure skate. The place is a lot like a second home and a second family, so this project had a lot of personal meaning to me. This project took quite a while to complete but I am happy with how it turned out, considering my lack of love for writing long papers. If you would like to view my website, click the link below.

Here is my Experimental website. For this project, we were given a statement or concept and had to write poems based off of that statement. Since the documentary project took so long, we did not get much time on the experimental project. I am happy with how the poems and artwork turned out however, I could have done a lot better on the website itself. The concept I had was something ugly lies within what it considered beautiful. I wanted the website to go from light happy images to their darker sides. I think I pulled off a basic idea of that, but I would have liked to explore that idea further in the look of my website. Here is my Profile website. This is the first project we got for our senior year at Freestyle Academy. It is similar to the documentary project, except instead of the subject being a place, our subject is a person. I chose to do my profile project on a man in my neighborhood named Rick Van Mell, who does a lot of community work such as working in C.E.R.T. which stands for Community Emergency Response Teams and building bookshelves and sets for elementary and middle school programs. This is my old project information page. To be honest, I don't like it very much and am very happy that we made a new one. It is extremly basic and well, boring. This website is a reminder of how much more skilled I am now and that I should always be improving becuase that website is no longer a "good enough" website.
