Introduction

Welcome to my profile website! For this project, we picked someone in the community that was important or did something really interesting, and write a paper about them and what they do. I chose to profile Rick Van Mell, a man in my community who is a main participant of our neighborhood CERT, or Community Emergency Response Team. Whenever there is an emergency or natural disaster, they respond and help treat the damage. To learn more about Rick and how he got involved in CERT, explore this site. You will find a commercial, magazine, photogallery, and recordings of interviews with Rick and his friends and family. Enjoy!

In design we made 5 page magazine articles about the person we profiled. In my article, I start off by talking about Rick's old dog teak, who died a couple years ago. I'd like to think of this article as a tribute to her, since she brought so many smiles to kids everyday. This article is more than just a profile of Rick Van Mell. It pays homage to where he started being important to the mountain view community. It starts, with a dog. To read the article, click the photo to the left. Enjoy!

Photo Gallery

The photogallery contains a collection of photos I have gathered over the course of this project. I picked these ones because I felt like they were they best showcased what this project was about and the topic I chose. To see the photo gallery, click on the camera. Enjoy!
