Introduction

Hi! Welcome to my Profile Website! For this project we were asked to find someone we found interesting and create a profile around them. After getting to know the person a little bit, we connected who that person is to a positive impact that they have in the community. In English class, we wrote a profile article about why this person is important and who they are. In Design class, we took this article and designed a magazine to display it. In WebAudio class, we created this very website to display everything else that was created to convey the profile star's story including a commercial and photogallery.

My profile star is Tony Huang. A businessman, father, husband, and co-founder of the start-up company ARK Computers. He moved away from home at the young age of 13 and was forced to assimilate into the foreign culture in Taiwan on his own. From a young age, he had always dreamed of traveling the world and pursuing a career in business. He worked hard in school and worked to continue his education, eventually earning a Master's degree in business. He is currently the Vice President of Development at a company called Looq. He now lives a comfortable life in the city of Los Altos with his wife and two children.

Through the process of creating this project, I have learned how to use Adobe After Effects and how to do typography, both of which were completely new to me. I have also gotten more comfortable using Pro Tools for audio editing and Adobe InDesign when designing the Magazine. I have also learned that every person has a unique story that lies beneath the surface

Magazine

The magazine was the first assignment of the year in Design class where we learned a bunch of different design techniques and principles and implemented them into our magazine deisgn. The magazine is about the profile star that we chose in English class. We wrote a profile article about them and then used that article as the content for our magazines.

I used Adobe's InDesign to organize and design the pages of the magazine. I also used Adobe Photoshop to edit the photos that were put into the magazine and Adobe Illustrator to create the design elements found behind the text as well as the overall color scheme of the magazine. Since I first came to Freestyle, I have gotten more and more comfortable using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator but InDesign still provides it's challenges.

Through the process of creating the magazine, I have come to realize how many little design elements there are in any given magazine and how I don't really even realize that they are there. After designing a magazine, I understand how important these little design techniques and elements are to how people perceive your content.

Bios

Tony Huang was my profile star. He is a businessman who currently lives in California. He enjoys relaxing at home while watching television. He also enjoys to go to the gym and playing table tennis with his friends. As you can find out in my magazine, Tony Huang was only 14 years old when he moved away from home to Taiwan, where he began a new life on his own. From there, he continued his education and eventually worked his way up to becoming the Vice President of Development at a company called Looq.

Jennie Lee is the wife of Tony Huang. She works in real estate and also lives in California. She has a strong appreciation for fashion and enjoys drinking tea while conversing with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys watching her favorite TV shows and listening to music.

Perry Kuo is Tony Huang's best friend. He is also a successful businessman who currently resides in Taiwan. He provided me with information about their life before the United States. He talked a lot about their time in college and what they used to do for fun although, they spent much of their time studying due to their rigorous class schedules.
