Workplace

In this project at freestyle we had to write a story in english. With this story we had to tell multiple persprectives. Form this story we had to go to design and create two pieces of art. The first one was a book jacket and the second one was a surrealist image. Through many applalcations I was able to put these all into a website for your enjoyment.

Collums

Put content here As Ray Hhampton stepped into the elevator he heaved took a giant’s breath. The two gargantuan giant doors of the elevator closed and the numbers slowly started to climb. Straightening his ducky tie and singing along to the elevator music, he grinned a grin came over his face so big that astronauts saw you could see it from space. This job was really important to Ray because if he diddoes well here he might be put into a leadership role at his workplace.
Finally the doors opened and he stepped onto floor thirteen. He looked around the office space. Under his breath he muttered the words oh boy.
“Mr. Hampton” an excited ladies voice said. “We’re so happy you came., Pplease, right this way.” She lead him through the office. Ray observed the look of it and thought to himself this was the most depressing office ever. “Please, have a seat,” she said and pointed to a door labeled The Boss. Ray thanked the lady and proceed inside. He sat down and was immediately startled by how much random crap was this guy had in there. The room was filled with movie cut outs, disco balls, toys, and posters filled with memes from 2013. The door flung open and a loud voice announced, “I’m here! Wwelcome to my kingdom!”. A semi- pudgy man walked into the room with a little confetti gun.  Ray saw the object and tried to casually say, “ No, no, no, please, that’s not necessary, you don’t have to shoot that.” The man looked at him and sighed “you're right”. He lowered his arm “But I really want to.” Then quickly shot three rounds of confetti in the air. Laughing like a child he introduced himself: “Sup, Ray, my name is Jack, Jack Holland. But you can just call me king. So um… Why are you here exactly.” Ray shook the confetti off his suite and looked at Jack. First thing he noticed was that he was wearing a bruno mars shirt. His hair was spiked up and had highlights in it. Ray realized this fool was stuck in the nineties.
“Mr Holland.” “No, please, call me Jack.” “Okay, Jack, I was brought in by your fellow co workers to help improve office morale.” Jack had a confused look on his face. He asked the question, “What’s wrong with them? I’m awesome have you seen my office dude.” Ray quickly responded, a little annoyed, respond in a little annoyed tone “Yes, but have you seen the rest of the office? Iits completely boring and grey. Bring some life into here! I can’t believe these people still work for you, because you're nothing more than a child.” Looking intensely into Jack’s eyes, Ray noticed Jack wasn’t looking back. Jack was doing everything to avoid eye contact with Ray.
The commotion between them brought the office’s attention to them. All the workers gathered outside the office to watch. A man stepped forward. “We all agree with Ray. Either you need to change your ways or we will have no choice but to leave this job.”
Jack looked at the ground for a better part of a minute. He looked up at all of his co workers and then gazed at Ray. “You guys are right. I’m going to take some personal time off. Ray, you're a great leader take charge until I get back.” Ray took one last glance at his office and walked around his coworkers and disappeared into the Elevator.
“Let’s get back to work. I’ll order Chinese,” Ray said. The office erupted into applause.

As I stepped into the elevator I took a giants breath. The two giant doors closed behind me and up I went. Straightening my ducky tie and singing along to the elevator music a grin came over my face so big that you could see it from space. I was excited because this could finally be the job that prompts me to manager. Finally the doors opened and I stepped onto floor thirteen. As I looked around the office space. All I saw was grey walls and empty workspaces. This was probably the most bland workplace I’ve seen.  Under my breath I muttered the words oh boy.

“Mr Holland.” I tried to say but was quickly cut off. “No please call me Jack.” “Okay Jack I was brought in by your fellow co workers to help improve office morale. That’s kinda my job.” Jack had a confused look on his face. He asked “What’s wrong with them? I’m awesome, have you seen my office dude.” As he pulled a wind up monkey out of a drawer labeled finance I snapped. Annoyed by this guys inability to do anything remotely dutiful I yelled. “Yes but have you seen the rest of the office its completely boring and grey. Bring some life into here! I can’t believe these people still work for you, because you're nothing more than a grown child.” Looking intensely into Jack’s eyes I noticed Jack wasn’t looking back. A snail that has roses for eyes and a wiffle ball for a shell. The background image a combination of a the rose layered over itself creating a almost diamond like surface, which the snail sliding across. The main rose can be seen again on the eyes of snail and in inside the wiffle ball. The wiffle ball was reshaped to replace the snails originals shell. You can also see a Jordan coming from above and resting against the shell. The main concept of my piece is to symbolise the journey a snail/ bug have to go through our backyards. The roses for that replace the eyes represent the goals of bugs. The shoe coming down is to represent the dangers that humans represent to the snails and how easily can crush the bug and end its journey. I choose reddish green color scheme to represent the colors of a garden with and red roses. The reason I put a wiffle ball in place of the shell was to represent the various objects that could land on the bugs.
