This sculpture is really fun because firstly it shows all the foods on the table. Also because of the nature of a sculpture, it allows you to look around at the table and see details there as if its a real table of food. But the reason I really enjoyed it because of the perspective illusion it creates. I first didn’t really know why the table was angled up, but I realized that this table is supposed to look flat and normal. But it uses perspective to trick your brain into seeing it in a different way. So that when you look at it straight on, it looks as if you’re up close to it from above looking down at the table. This is really interesting because it’s using painting perspective techniques to create forced depth in a sculpture which usually provides the depth by itself. So really cool.
