This is the first painting I liked. The first reason is it’s really attention grabbing. This is something that you can see from the other side of the room. The contrasty faces with the large size of the painting makes it stand out among the other paintings. There’s also a lot of feeling in this. You can feel the emotion of these characters, particularly the left two. You can also tell that the artist put in a lot of effort to make this look good. Usually I'm not a fan of really dark art like this one. But I still chose it over a lot of the paintings in the SFMOMA because it shows emotion really effectively, despite it being a tone that I don’t lean towards.
