What’s up Watson?
I created a documentary profile of a special dog named Watson who has a narcolepsy, a rare sleeping disorder that can affect both dogs and humans. As well as the documentary, I wrote a magazine article on him and then designed the layout using Adobe InDesign. It was a challenge to create a profile centered around an animal, but while Watson remained the star and primary focus I also used Watson as a way to frame and contextualize narcolepsy. This disorder can often be a difficult to discuss because of it’s rare and debilitating nature, and so Watson’s story helped serve as a more lighthearted way to start a conversation. Wrapped in the guise of a cute dog, I partially aimed to inform and educate the audience regarding what narcolepsy is and how it affects both dogs and humans.
