Carapace

Medium: plaster, newspaper, and acrylic

This piece is an exploration of my what making art means to me. In my everyday encounters, I use a carapace of words to shield my innermost thoughts and emotion from the rest of the world.  In making art I can begin to strip that safety boundary away.  My art lets me open up the lid of that newspaper chest and release my true thoughts and emotions from inside, leaving me all the more vulnerable.
