We set up the canvas so have different slices of Mandala options to pick from and so that when one slice was drawn on, the other slices would mimic it. I was very precise in my Mandala creation process since after finishing the first stage of line art, I went through to make sure the lines intersected well and it was clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"beforeAfter\">\n\t<div id=\"landscape1\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img2020before\" src=\"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~LetitiaP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/before3.png\" alt=\"Black and white version of my mandala.\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img2020after\" src=\"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~LetitiaP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/after3.png\" alt=\"Colored version of my mandala.\">\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If given the opportunity to change my\u00a0mandala, I\u2019d consider designing an asymmetrical element to the design. In my colored version of the\u00a0mandala, I could have stars or shapes resembling a twinkle to make it seem as if the piece is sparkling. That connects it more to my theme of nocturnal animals. I\u2019m happy with how my\u00a0mandala\u00a0came out and wouldn\u2019t change anything for the black and white\u00a0mandala\u00a0besides minor technical details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"21 22 p5 Mandala LetitiaP\" width=\"920\" height=\"518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ggDXeG5fF6o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0mandala\u00a0project has taught me the value of drafting different ideas out first before pursuing a final one. I experimented with different slices and ideas, one of which being diving pelicans and another dinosaur fossils. I settled on the nocturnal woodland animal theme when I realized after drawing the pelicans, I wanted to do a theme involving birds. I implemented the swirls of wood into the patterns of the owl and badger as a reference to \u201cwoodland\u201d. My theme for the\u00a0mandala\u00a0design wasn\u2019t thoroughly planned and the art I made for this project was done based on what I felt at the moment. When the class looked at examples from previous years, I found myself to be more fond of the\u00a0mandalas\u00a0with animals. I knew I wanted to incorporate an animal into my\u00a0mandala\u00a0to encourage the viewer to imagine a story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We used Adobe Illustrator to create Mandalas.
