Reflections

This unit was about looking back on your life these past few years. I got to explore the ways in which I think and how it set me apart from others. Through the projects in this unit, I appreciated the opportunity to reflect on how my past experiences have shaped the person I have become today.

Core Values

Mandala

In this project, I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator to create templates where I could draw lines and shapes that mirrored onto each other. I drew objects and symbols that represented something important to me

My inspiration for this project was the midnight sky. I chose these colors because I associate cooler colors with midnight and also space because younger stars are blue. This project also helped me gain appreciation for the detail that goes into art like this. Finding the right color to fit the black background was not too hard but making them clash in patterns that looked nice was challenging.

Motion Graphics

In this project, I used Adobe After Effects to make different digital motion graphics and effects.

In this Cool Graphics and Audio video, I took a song and synced it to create sound waves frequencies to go with it.

In My Simple Motion Graphics, I used different techniques to create swirling effects and sine waves

In this Rotoscoping video, I used techniques like layering and clipping masks to make text wiggle, fill up the screen, and move behind a subject.

The most interesting part about the motion graphics unit was learning that a lot of video tricks and techniques can be learned by anyone. I like being able to make things like this because it helps with creative expression through a digital medium.

Film

In this short film, we had to storyboard a movie in groups, trade storyboards with another group and film their storyboard, then trade the raw footage to a different group to edit down into a minute long film, all in two class periods.

In this video, I used a green screen to create a comedic bit where I am trying to pose for a photo at a popular tourist attraction only to get the shot ruined by someone walking behind me in the frame.
