Who am I?

First semester of Senior year, So much that i have learned and so much that I have created. each on of my classes at freestyle have shown me so many different skills that have helped me through life and help me create amazing creations. English has shown me how to use my skills in creative thinking and being able to express it through writing and discussion. The narrative essays and the stories that we create are all based on skills that we have learned throughout this semester. in Digital Media we have learned so much about the different Adobe program, the different tools that are being given to us. I also learned so much about working productively. Digital Media has shown me so much about working and staying on task. this class is a very fast pace class and it offers so many different programs and if you aren’t on task and catch up with work then it will pill up. I learned that this year. This class has given me so many opportunities to make artwork come to life. In Design, I learned so much, I made many project that I never thought I could do. From the Aboriginal project to the PSA and Product design there are so many things that I want to make and learn how to do and in this class I keep learning about the most amazing and interesting things. I cannot wait to continue freestyle this next semester.

Mandala

This project was made using Illustrator and we worked on it during Digital Media, we had to find an inspiration of what we wanted to design. We had to learn how to start a mandala, making mask to put our design in and then it would get reflected all around. We learned about different strokes to use and the different tools to use in Photoshop.

This piece was inspired by the growth of nature and the evolution of how the roots or a plant will grow to become a beautiful addition to nature. II looked at inspiration from other artists that used the same technique. I used illustrator to create all the art pieces, and i used different brushes to give different textures and strokes to my mandala.

I wanted this mandala to not be too dark and have some light strokes to it to show the flow of the lines that move all around the mandala. Something that I would change if I had more time would be the top of the mandala. I think the top could be something big and flow to show the blossom of the flower.

Photoshop Art

In Photoshop we learned a lot about the different tools and tricks that photoshop offers. There is still so much that I will learn but this semester I have been able to make so many different projects come to life. Each one of the projects gave me a chance to understand a little more about photoshop. We worked on watercolor and pastel painting and different art that we made.

pastel painting

This piece was started off being a big struggle because of all the shading and the different colors that i had to blend in. Then I got a good hand on it I got an understanding on how to use the tools on photoshop and tested them to make the pastel painting as good as the image. I chose this picture because of all the different variations of colors of green and using shading and highlights to give the piece more depth. I also used this picture because of how simple but also filling it is to a viewers eyes.

For this piece I wanted to show a simple but detailed rose, By adding a simple darker green background to make the red rose pop. The meaning behind this piece was showing how a simple rose that you might see on the side of a road has so much ore meaning if you look at it with detail. This is like anything in life. If you look at simple things with a large perspective you wont see the beauty in the details. For this project I used photoshop which gave me the opportunity to use all the different brushes that can be used to give the illusion that this was used with watercolors. I was inspired by different pieces from previous classes to get an understanding of what i could do.

For this project I used different tools to help me find exactly what I wanted to past in. I used two pictures that I took and tried to find a way to put them together in a way where it could look surreal but also makes it look surreal. I used photoshop to cut out all the parts that I didn’t want. I used different brushes to look at all the ways can make shadows and highlights to make is look smooth.

This project gave me the chance to really understand the composition of different images. It gave me a chance to take pictures from different places and put them together in away that all fits. I worked on using the tools that I have been using and put them all together to use lights and darks, use the brushes and effects that photoshop offers to cut of the parts I wanted in the composition.

Design

The environment is falling and the world is not doing good. To represent that I used an hourglass to represent time left. Earth is on the top to show that the earth is melting into a dystopian city, this shows how time is running out and if people don’t help the world go back to its natural and healthy self then this planet that we call home is going to get destroyed.

I used photoshop and illustrator to create this piece, I used different tools presented to me to make every detail. Using the layers in a way so that everything fits the way it’s supposed to. I struggled a lot with the organization of each layer to make everything fit together, because each layer is put together in a way so that everything goes together.

This aboriginal Project was based on our astrology sign and spirit animal. This gave me an idea of what I wanted to do with the colors and the composition of the whole piece. The two pisces fish represent the continuation of life after death or reincarnation. I wanted to show them around the border to give space for the giraffe which is my spirit animal. I chose this animal because of the pride, intusionniss, and that I am protective. I feel close to the giraffe due to its elegance and the way it walks and acts. I’ve always found it fascinating. The starters and constellations were placed next to the head of the giraffe and in the wall of stars in the back to blend in. This piece was hard to figure out, where I would place each of the pieces. I had a hard time trying to figure out how and where I would show the fish. How I would design them and what colors I wanted to use without the colors overlapping the giraffe. The giraffe was also a challenge, I had to find different designs inside the giraffe, and all the colors I chose had to be chosen perfectly to balance the whole piece. I love how my aboriginal projet turned out and there isn’t much I would change right now. I would love to see it with different colors as well, I think that would be interesting, but overall I love how it turned out.
