The first part of our Narrative Project in English was the Research presentation. We were given the freedom to research something in relation to our Worldbuilding project. I chose to research the effect of radiation on plants and what the benefits of it could be. In my research I learned that radiation can be used to benefit plants, their health, and production levels. Although this can depend on the levels of radiation that the plant is recieving. This helped me because later in our Worldbuilding project we used this information as the part of the historical context of our world, helping us create a more realistic and fleshed out world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Digital Media, we created a surreal composition based off of our world building project. I created a surreal composition that displayed the enviornment of our world. I wanted to display the mutations that happened due to the radiation and chose to do this through showing a mutated animal. <\/p>\n\n\n

My Surreal image is a combination of four images, one making up the background and the other three making up the components of it. Using Photoshop, I created this surreal piece using techniques of opacity blending with layers and brush strokes on layer masks, color correction, and more. Although I\u2019ve used Photoshop for combining pictures together before, this time I experimented with different techniques that I haven\u2019t used before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my group\u2019s World Building Project, our world is created as hundreds of years post an atomic disaster. Because of this I wanted to show how the world would change due to radiation or adapt to this new environment. I created a creature that was a combination of three different animals. While looking quickly it just looks like a normal deer, but then you see the moth wings and the lizard tail before realizing that this creature is very different than it should be. I wanted this image to seem hazy and eerie which is why I chose the background and added another layer of fog over everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using Photoshop has become somewhat familiar to me at this point and this assignment was no different, but I had fun creating it. Surreal compositions give a lot of freedom to the creator to choose whatever it is they want to create. The skills that you learn from editing photos together seamlessly gives the freedom to create your own references for art.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The whole worldbuilding project culminated into our final presentation which we gave in front of all of AM Seniors to recieve feedback. After we got back the feedback we made revisions so that we could create the final worldbuilding pitch video which we recorded and edited using various different softwares including: Audition and After Effects. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
