Freestyle has given me a lot of insight into prioritizing what I need to get done. It also taught me to stay ahead of the work and to not procrastinate. Freestyle gave me the skills to brainstorm and create projects that I enjoy and can share with others. Fortunately, I was able to learn so many new skills through my Web class. In this class I learned not only how to create and develop my own unique website using basic technology, I was given the opportunity and the knowledge to make websites with the newest programs being used in the industry today.Through these years I now have nine websites where I can proudly show the insight I gained into the world of web. I was never very musically inclined but at Freestyle, I was given the tools to record others as they demonstrated their talents. Incorporating both English and Design into the Freestyle curriculum makes it a program that can't be beat. Through English, we learn how to develop our writing and understand how other artists and authors have conveyed their ideas so that we can convey ours. In design class, we learned the basics of photoshop, illustrator and Indesign and were priviledged enough to print these creations out and show them to others at exhibitions. I walk away from Freestyle glad that I chose that path. I believe Freestyle has made me a more well rounded student and given me ways to develop my creativity that traditional schools wouldn't have. Teamwork is crucial and so are working with each teacher to figure out the best and most efficient way of making something new. I am thankful to the staff and all of the people and donors who make Freestyle possible.
