Since podcasts are widely accessible, we learned how to make one ourselves using our background knowledge on audio editing to broadcast our stories and messages. The inspiration for this podcast in particular came from Sardonicast and Adam Doubay’s review of Howl’s Moving Castle. The way they break down movies is enjoyable to listen to, and gets the audience thinking, which were goals for our project.

About this Podcast

Animation students Sofia and Maya review and discuss Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle. From Sophie’s fluctuating age to the meaning of the ending, join them as they explore the themes and intricacies that went into the storytelling of the movie.

Freestyle Academy · 2021 Podcast By SofiaA And MayaS

About the Hosts

Maya Sullivan is a senior at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. For first-time podcasters, I’d recommend recording in a quiet space with whoever you’re working with. Because of the pandemic, ours required more editing since we couldn’t be in the same space. Overall, it was nice being able to research more deeply into a topic that we were interested in, and be able to show what we found to others.

Introduction In our English and Digital Media class, we were taught how to create a podcast.
