My name is Maya Yoder and I am a senior in AM Design at Freestyle Academy. Most of my hobbies revolve around art, like designing, drawing, and over creating things. Other than that, I enjoy playing lacrosse, cooking, and thrifting. I am in a club at school, SLAM Magazine, where we create design spreads for articles discussing social issues. This cub and Freestyle has influenced me to pursuit a career in communication design\/ graphic design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For my showcase project, I wanted to showcase a work of mine I am the most proud of at Freestyle, my movie poster. On of the units in our Freestyle classes was World-building, which involved creating a fictional world and a story along with it. The story I developed with my group is called &#8220;Remembrance&#8221;. The main character. Bryton Davis, wakes up one day with no recollection of his memories. He soon realizes that the world he woke up in was a cult controlled by the leader, Ernest. My main focus when designing this poster was to showcase the main characters and the relationships between them through a visual. I created the visuals through Photoshop (and some Illustrator). Even though I can&#8217;t go into very one of them in depth, I wanted to showcase my work through a quick reel. Although I joined Freestyle with a goal of pursuing graphic design in the future, this experience has furthered confirmed my goal of pursuing a creative career. In the future, I hope to become a graphic design artist that is able to incorporate multidisciplinary practices to her work.
