Visual weight or mass in photography can come from things like bright areas, saturated colors, textures, objects that draw attention, and contrasting areas. In this photo the main thing that carries the visual weight is the bright red cardigan among the dark brown and black clothing that surrounds it. Additionally the range of textures in the clothing adds to it. Furthermore the way the clothing is arrange so the image has these vertical lines of clothing adds to the overall weight of the photo. This photo was taken in my closet and I choose to use this bright red cardigan as my object of visual mass because it is so bright and out their that I rarely wear it, so I though it would be a good way to communicate what I wanted to show in the photo. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This photo falls into the category of inspiration because of it&#8217;s visual weight.
