Hi, Im Milo A graduating senior at Freestyle Academy. Freestyle has given me an opportunity to learn like none other I’ve experienced. I’ve gained skills Id never thought I’d have and I’ve learned how to “create”. It taught me that if you have an Idea, it’s never impossible, you just need a little bit of initiative and a place to start.
documentary
My First piece of work that I take the most pride in is my JR year documentary. I had a chance to create this in my film class and learned more than I knew existed about the genre. My topic was my own father and his life experiences. Throughout the creation of this film I learned how to overcome various unpredictable challenges and I made a bond with my father. The things I learned from him I feel I wouldn’t have asked had I not been doing this film. I could go on talking But I like to think my work speaks for itself.
humor project
This was definitely the best time I had making a freestyle project and the amount of positive feedback we got was awesome. For my part in this humor song, I wrote my verses in Spanish and incorporated humor techniques to follow the criteria. From recording it in the studio to filming the music video I truly enjoyed every second of this project.
zenith
Similar to my Documentary another Film project I take pride in is my zenith mockumentary. This project was not quite as thought out and planned but to me, It holds a special place because of the story behind the process. I worked with three other first-year seniors and was able to teach them a lot. I feel like if you’re able to teach something yourself it solidifies it and improves your own understanding. I taught each of my group members how to do different jobs on set and together we were able to make a film that came out really cool and funny.
Pastel Painting
Lastly, One of the pieces of work I was super stoked to create was my pastel painting. I have never been the most artistically talented person but in this assignment, I was able to make art that I actually liked. And not only that I was able to base it off of my own photo that I took. From the process behind it to the final product I am super proud of my pastel Painting.
