Podcast

About this Podcast:

In my podcast, I discuss the biggest mistakes typically made in acting that are overlooked. These tips and tricks typically apply to screen acting but can be considered in theater production.  I talk about inflections and tone while giving examples of them audibly so listeners can hear what I am talking about.

Podcaster Bio:

My name is Neekie Salehi, I go to school at Mountain View High school. I am also a part of Freestyle Academy, a digital arts program through my high school. I love acting and love to practice and participate in acting activities and events when I can. That is where I got the inspiration to create a podcast based on that. I want to continue to pursue acting in the future and continue to move forward in going to college.

Introduction section:

The reason we are doing the podcast project is not only to research topics of interest but to also practice relaying information to listeners in a clear, humorous, and conversational way. As second-semester seniors were learning communication and expression that is uncommon in typical English classes. Podcasting allows for people to learn about a diversity of topics from multitudes of different people with different ideas. My podcast was inspired by “The Actors Access” videos on youtube. The videos he creates are insightful, interesting, and helpful.

Reflection:

There were many things that I valued from this project. The biggest one being freedom, with this project we got to pick our own topic, pick the content, and what we researched. It allowed me to explore areas that I’m interested in. This project also pushed me out of my comfort zone because I don’t normally love recording myself and listening to myself talk so it was a good change in pace. It was really fun for me to record though and I learned a lot about myself. I really enjoy recording and expressing myself through acting and voiceover work.
