Every year our family goes to pick cherries &#8211; it was hard to get to do it this year, as almost all places are closed to cherry picking, choosing to sell commercially rather than though &#8220;U-Pick&#8221;. However, my dad is passionate enough about this that he was able to obtain a couple of rows of trees for us to pick on a farm next weekend. In preparation for picking cherries, we boil down granny smith apples,  which are high in pectin. We use this apple jam as a base for cherry jams. I must admit, the jams are <em>really<\/em> good. Anyways, back to the photo.
