How I went from ideas to plans
Going into this process, I started with a few rough sketches of garments that I drew from inspiration I saw in magazines, music videos, social media, amd more. Slowly, I started to mix and mash concepts and patterns that I liked within each piece of inspiration I found. Eventually, I was able to settle on three full sketches that I was pleased with.
After gaining an idea of what I wanted my pieces to look like, I started rendering the final illustration. In order to keep things simpler for myself, I illustrated the models in the same pose. The materials I used were markers, pen and ink, and colored pencils on Bristol paper. Each illustration is roughly 9 in by 12 in.
