Documentary

Introduction and Reflection:

The Documentary project was assigned to us as an opportunity to research a topic that we are passionate about and create a product that exhibits what we have learned. Throughout this process, I learned how to conduct interviews, use different softwares, and how to write and revise a lengthy research paper. Reflecting on my overall experience, I have taken away a lot of valuable lessons. I mainly struggled with time management and meeting personal deadlines for this project. This was specially hard when I had to work around  not only my hectic schedule, but also the busy schedules of my interviewees. However, overall, I really enjoyed this project and gained a lot of knowledge through it.

Elective Class Production:

For design students, our project was to create, design, and publish a book. We used our paper we wrote in English and used that as the copy (writing/ text) for our book. We used Adobe Illustrator to create at least three graphic design elements that we had to incorporate into our project. In addition, we used Adobe Photoshop to edit the photos we took,  in which we would later place into our book.

I decided to write my book about a non profit organization called Animal Assisted Happiness. I choose this topic because I have been a volunteer for them since eighth grade and it has a very special place in my heart. I wanted to learn more about its background and the science backing up its foundation of animal therapy.
