Hi my name is Paige Eller, and I welcome you to my project listing page! Throughout my two years at Freestyle Academy I’ve created eight websites all made in Web Audio but contain elements from my English and Design classes too. I was lucky to be able to work with all this technology and become knowledgeable with many Adobe programs and digital drawing tablets. Please explore my websites, and enjoy!

The Self-Portrait was the first unit we did our junior year. Its purpose was to be a form of self-expression through our choice of format and design. Within the website there are various ways to learn more about myself. Through my diptych that explains the relationship with my mother, to the photogallery showing my favorite activities, as well as the pages I have on my friends. The goals of this unit were to have a website that was easy to navigate, but intriguing to the audience. My aesthetic has always been focused, retro, and simple. I decided to leave my page in black and white with only bits of color. I think this website really suits me and my style. What’s really unique about this website, is the podcast we created. It started in English class whenebsite, it was a bit overwhelming. I learned that it is important to space your time out because the format and display of your website is just as important as the pieces that go inside. I was very happy with how my website turned out over all and because of this, it set a high bar for myself to make each project as good if not better than my first.

The Narrative was the second unit we did our junior year at Freestyle. After reading the book Persepolis in english, we were supposed to have a clearer sense of how to story tell. Although one might not think about story telling when it comes down to making a website, but it is actually very important. The main project out of this unit was the animation that started with our graphic novels, transformed into our animatics, and then finally turned into our animations. This website really shows the process it took to get to the animation which is pretty neat. This unit was very challenging to me because I was very unfamiliar with the AdobeFlash that we started using.

The Documentary was the third and most strenuous unit of our junior year. Based on the topic you choose, you were supposed to design your website to fit the topic in a create, professional manner. What’s cool about my website is the different headers. I used a wide angle lense to capture the beauty and phenomenon of a food truck. On my website you can listen to my personal interviews as well as my photogallery of my trip to see San Francisco's famous food trucks. This unit was so much fun. I was very passionate about my topic, which made it engaging for me to work on.

The final project of our junior year was the Experimental Unit. This website was by far the most creative and innovative we’ve ever been at Freestyle. We were supposed to use non traditional styles of design to create an entrancing website. One big piece of the project was to create music. I usually don’t sing, but a group of Freestylers and I got together and did a rendition of one of our favorite songs. I really liked this unit because we were given a lot of freedom to explore new ideas and thoughts. I think I really nailed my idea of all things have the potential to be beautiful.

The Profile Unit was the first project of our senior year. We were instructed to choose a subject from our local community and share their untold story. This website is supposed to represent my subject Jennifer Bulka and give you insight on her story, and a glimpse at her personality. Not only can my graphic elements and symbolic designs be seen throughout the website display but within the media feature that contains the profile paper written in English. Not only is the paper part of the media feature, but can also be read throughout the magazine article created in Design class. The magazine contains a little of my photography and the rest can be seen in my photogallery page. This unit was a lot of work, and very time consuming. There were many projects that all had to tie together in a cohesive manner and this challenged me as an artist. I am very proud of how everything turned out, and it was a great project to start the new year!

The Music Video is the second unit of our Senior year. This project is the first time Web students and Film students were able to collaborate to create one final product. This unit was so much fun because we got to work with new students who had different visions than a lot of us web students have. Being able to work with two film students and one other web student gave a lot of different perspectives, but made it relatively easy to put together. I was really happy with the final outcome of my groups music video. The music, and visual displays went really well together and I had a lot of fun creating this project. Along with the music video, we also created a seperate button for our lyrics, which gives the audience a second chance to look at our music. In Design we created a concert poster, as well as a C.D. and C.D. cover to further enhance our knowledge with the music industry and learn the importance of capturing an audiences attention with visual displays. Overall this unit was one of my favorites, please enjoy!

The Narrative Website is the third unit of our Senior year. This project was the second time we got to use Adobe After Effects to create our animations. Our animations derived from our english short story-screen plays and continued to grow through our Design book jacket project. My elements of design can be seen in my English, Design, And WebAudio projects. My illustrations were all created through Adobe Illustrator, and I chose to incorporate them throughout all my projects to give a cohesive look to all my work. This unit was really fun. I got to focus my project on an audience for ayounger age, which helped teach me the importance of knowing how to alter my work for different ages. Please navigate through my website to discover my Narrative projects!

The Explorations Website was the last unit of our Senior year. This project was one of the most lenient and free-spirited here at Freestyle. We had two sections throughout this unit; Humor and Blink. Although each part of the unit were entirely different, they both used unique and different sides of the brain. The subconcious, and the unfilitered. My aesthetic can be seen throughout my website, design pieces, and youtube videos. Overall this was the best unit here at Freestyle, because it was memorable and unique. Please feel free to navigate my website to see my final work here at Freestyle. Don't forget to enjoy!
