Intro

Having been given over three weeks to work on any project of my choice, I decided an LP would be a tangible goal to achieve. Look through the rest of this site to see how and why I decided to make this album. I hope you enjoy the music and enjoy the experience.

Process

Recording, writing, producing, and advertising this single was without a doubt a lengthy process but it's one I would be more than happy to do again. I started within the first week of this project by writing the music that would be necessary for the three songs I produced on this single. I did this by not only spending countless hours in my garage actually creating the music and lyrics but time with Mr. Greco going over lyrics, and time with fellow musicians such as Peyton Millet and Christian Skousen. I also had the opportunity to meet and get feedback from plenty good friends and accomplished musicians such as Robert Sanders, and Aaron Atkins. These people helped me within the first week to really hone in on the ideas I wanted to float around within the album, my website, and the whole project. I also began pitching ideas to my artist and friend Hannah Pang on the album art this week. This back and forth of ideas really helped me find a stronger sense of direction in the single. By the second week I began researching how to drop a single, and practicing with those I would be recording and performing with. I also made my website and my infographic this week. I took this week to really fine tune any side projects besides the music and actually recording. I huge help throughout this week was Mr. Flo who gave his utmost attention and assistance in making my website. So much of what is on that page would have been completely impossible without the efforts he put in during and after school with me. By the third week I had practiced thoroughly with the rest of project and so we took to the studio. Here we recorded our three songs with the help of flos prowess in pro tools. I also took this week to master and edit the three tracks get my bandcamp page organized for when the single is finally going to drop, and get my publishing in order for physical CD’s and the art overall.

Info

This Infographic, a visual for the type of music I play and that you can find on my single: Math Rock. The category of Math Rock is a very small sub genre within the entire scope of music and comes from plenty of humble roots such as Jazz, Punk, and Post-Rock. Hopefully this visual can show the overall music taste of the the U.S. and maybe even where your music taste fits in the mix.

Reflection

To sum up this entire production, I would just like to say that I am ecstatic to have been given the oppertunity to record and produce a single. The amount of support I received in the process was nothing but amazing. Huge Thank you's to Hannah Pang in creating all the art work and thank you to Payton Millet, Christian Skousen, Robert Sanders, and Kyran Buggy for helping me finish and create the music. This product would have never been finished without the help of Mr. Flo so huge thanks to him for helping me before and after class, and thank you to Freestyle Academy for giving me this oppertunity. Lastly I would like to thank my family and close friends who encouraged me every step of the way in creating this music. The inspiration could come from no one else.
