Introduction

Projects that encourage creativity through art, music, and animations challenge their views through their taste. Students will grow their technological understanding by learning many mixes of professional modern tools to help develop their technical creativity by applying their knowledge using technology such as DSLR Cameras, Tascam Audio Recorders, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Avid Pro Tools, Adobe Animate and, Word Press.

Freestyle has taught me about more digital options through music and video editing. They have also given me creative freedom by allowing me to learn many new mediums of art expression and encouraging my interpretations of art pieces.

Art Reflection

The SF MOMA trip was refreshing and gave me more ideas of what I could add to my art. It also showed me ways to manipulate the eye make the brain think through different possible meanings and leave the question open to whatever interpretation the person may like.

This project showed me what kinds of editing I can do and how I edit will determine how the viewer interprets my interpretation and maybe changing their own.

What I valued the most about this project was how much it made me connect to my younger self and make me think past the art work and then continue creating my form of art through someone else vision.

Parody Introduction

The process in the Parody song was a group effort with Freestyle Students Athena, Maile, and a special mention of Joshua. Athena, Maile, and I had collaborated all together trying to find ideas unable to settle on one topic so after a few hours of brainstorming we thought of using all the ideas we couldn’t settle on and making that the song. We searched for a very wordy song and came across We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel so we came up with some more random ideas to fill the whole song. All three of us sang the chorus and split up the verses. We also asked Joshua to say some lines throughout the song.

In my parody, I learned a lot about editing and being creative with sound and placement. I also learned how you need to record a lot to make the song more amplified and have more meaning in the words. I had seen that through editing because it had become really hard to edit a track where all three singers were singing at the same time through the same mic on the same track making it hard to hear every word without blasting it in your ears. I will say doing it together made us sound more happy and confident, making us just have more fun in general.

The focus of my piece is our ideas on creativity and the ability to open up my mind to get more and more creative without ideas. The biggest challenge was not finding any ideas which are so counterproductive. The reason we had so many ideas was that we could never settle on the most meaningful or important thing.  Although as we went on we thought of more and more just random shallow ideas. It was only until I thought we should just make a song about how we have no ideas on what it should be about. We had thought about doing a more political theme, talking about the presidential debate that happened and all the bizarre things that happened and were said. However, it turned out to be one-sided and we did not want people to think different things about us that may or may not be true.  In our final product, I would not change much but add more background voices to elevate the song and give it more harmony. I learned I could do a lot more in editing and I also basically concrete my knowledge of how I can’t sing or rap at all.

I’m most proud of Our group singing, our creativity, and how well we all sounded. I’ll learn just to keep on moving with the project and it doesn’t need to be perfect. This project also made me appreciate so many people, their creativity in writing and singing, and all the support I got through my group.

    Animation

Being in animation had been amazing learning was super easy and using the tools we have makes it much easier to achieve what your vision is. I have been able to do so many types of animations from paper to digital it is all an amazing skill to be able to produce and make a character come to life.

    Image of Phenakistoscope

I value the process it takes to make an animation. Now look at animated films such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer created in 1969 stop motion. They may not have as good technology as we do now so I can only imagine the thought put into that film and how long it would have taken to only do a few seconds of the film.

Phenakistoscope is a wheel you trace every frame then use a light board to trace over the last frame and move what part you want to change so when you spin the wheel you will see the animation move.

The flip book is fairly simple to create As you make your first page or frame then put it on the light board with the next frame or page two then trace but slightly adjust the parts you want to see movement in

The digital flip book is made by setting you first frame in center frame then marking where it is so you take a photo then changing the frame aligning it up in the same marks of the first frame repeatedly taking pictures to then making a video of all the photos together to make s video of your animation.

Stop Motion Paper Cutout is when you but out the object you want but in more motorized pieces so you can show the movement such as what i did with the dog in this paper animation.

Stop Motion Object Animation is when you move the object just a little in the direction you want it to end up as you take a picture every time you move it then put into a video it becomes an animation.
