Introduction
The Visual Narrative Project has taught me how I can create different patterns and textures through different tool we have access to at Freestyle. Through English we have opportunities to express your creative writing through your own character story telling then it get turned into a podcast through Digital Media as you read your story and produce a album cover to be posted on freestyle website. In animation we learned how to make a flip book and turned it into digital work but it challenged us to be able to use out paper and tell a story with no sound only events and movement.
Story
In English we created are own character’s and plot. one of the assignment’s we used to help make our vision was the character questioner letting us figure out what the character will act like or how they show emotion. The plot map helped us plan out our story line visually. My inspiration was Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell as my two main character’s.
We used Pro Tools to make the audio production of our stories by recording out own voice reading aloud our story then edit it with some sound effects to make it more interesting the the background. While reading aloud my story I found some way I could have made the story much more interesting and dramatic.
Illustration
In Freestyle, we learned how to use programs such as Illustrator to create creative illustrations with a group of people, making some interesting images. Our assignment to create an Exquisite Corpse was a group project where three or four people were assigned one square on one big strip. We were allowed to create anything as long as it connected to the two lines on both sides of your square. This was to make sure we had all the images connected so it looked like one image of different random ideas.

Music
Experimental Music Production was a project to help teach us how to use Pro Tools and to understand how to use the software correctly. We could create either three or more original beats or create a song sound track. I decided to create a sound track using the installments like the piano and the guitar as well as made sound and beats.
Animation
In Animation we use Dragon Frame to create stop motion animation as wells as using it to upload our flip books to a video animation. We also use Photo Shop to draw our animations on the Wacom tablet, we transfer our animations into After Effects so compose our work and edit the screen.
This piece is a combination of Photo Shop and stop motion. We first made our character’s through photo shop and animated it to walk, we then put it into After Effects to move it across the screen and add a shadow so it looks like it walking across the screen. After we had fully designed our characters we had to make a puppet of our character. I used felting to make my body and most of the cloths but I needed to make the skirt and sew it on my character. Once we finished making the puppets we needed to create a green screen for the background. When we created our characters we needed to make their feet plastic with little bolts in the bottom so when we are taking a picture they are standing on a board that has holes so they don’t move during the photo process. After we move them we take a photo and we continue that process over a few times so our character has done a few steps. Once that is done we taking it to After Effects with our digital animation to compose the two together giving the shadows and having a background with some music in the background.
This Piece was super challenging but very rewarding and helped me grow so much. Learning how to make stop motion was so fun and a amazing skill to have. I was able to see what I didn’t like and what I did like from my digital animation showing me what I should and shouldn’t do next time helping me grow.

My animation class was split into two groups in the two groups we where assigned to create a character and make in story that has a conflict and a resolution ending with a lesson our character learned. We where assigned a group leader Athen who helped direct us on what we needed to get done. We stared off our first week of brain storming the plot and the characters . Once we started story boarding we would come up with small details we should add and addressing if we had enough time and how we would split the work up between everyone. Athena would would give us different scene and jobs for everyone making it more efficient an quick. On of my favorite parts about this project is we all had different version and styles of art and we all drew some part of the animation. Through out the animation you can see all our different styles as it would constantly change through out the animation. I was super proud of my entire team and of the work of art we created together, even through it was super stressful it was just as fun working with everyone and have having the end result be so successful. I loved working on the animation and I am glad I got to do it with the people I got to do it with. I also learned so much more about my peers and how to animate. I loved how we worked as a team and just had fun.
