I like the emptiness of the room. It allows me to picture a fire with its crisp, crackling noise. That noise that's often covered by talking and people buzzing around. This painting allows me to drift into the beauty of silence. The silence people experience when they wake up at 5 am or go to bed at 3 am. The tranquility of no sound, or only the soft crackling sounds that people miss like a fireplace. As an extrovert-assumed type of person, I feel obligated to be social, make noise, but oftentimes I enjoy the quiet. I enjoy being alone, I like the peace the silence fills, the peace where I do not need to fill it with noise because I am alone.
