Welcome to the website dedicated to profiling current USF sophomore Katherine Pantango, an involved, compassionate individual who spends her time improving the community around her. From El Salvador to the Bay, she extends her learnings of empathy to the people around her, in hopes to build a better, more understanding future. Her dedication has lead her to recieve many achievements, such as a Princeton Prize in Race Relations, and create connections with current influential figures making history, like undocumented immigration activist Jose Antonio Vargas.
To find out more about Katherine and the profile unit at Freestyle Academy, check out the photogallery, presentation provided and magazine article. Enjoy browsing!
In Design, we created a magazine using Adobe InDesign. We placed the article we wrote in English about our profile person and made it visually appealing. To view the entire magazine, click the picture and you will be sent to another link.
The photogallery is composed of photos that I took when meeting up with Katherine. The majority of them were taken in San Francisco, where she lives and attends school. All were edited through Adobe Photoshop.
In Freestyle, we presented in front of our entire class and teachers an interactive powerpoint about our project. A small portion was dedicated to the person profiled, but the majority of the presentation was describing our experience with the project at hand. Not only are there pictures and transitions, but I incorporated audio and video, as well as my magazine layout. This video is a screenshot recording, provided by Quicktime, that has me going through my presentation.
