At first glance, your eyes are immediately drawn to the crazy amount of detail on the rotunda and the carvings. By pushing the structure over to the left side and leaving a wide open sky on the right, I wanted to create a composition where the building has room to breathe. I thought it was a cool way to use empty space to contrast against something so heavy and intricate. It helped me connect to the idea that negative space isn&#8217;t just empty air, because it actually works to highlight and give power to the main subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I was taking this picture, I noticed how the bright blue sky and the soft clouds acted like a clean backdrop that made the sharp lines of the dome pop even more. I had to position the camera carefully to cut the frame down the middle, letting the messy, natural green trees bridge the gap between the heavy stone and the open sky. The whole process made me realize how a lot of empty space can completely change the mood of a photo, turning a busy architectural shot into something that feels way more calm and open.
