Intro:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Their is no strait forward goal of this unit. Although I do have my own levels of ambitions in projects, which sometime’s can be a bad habit that I’m still sorting out even to this day. Anyways here is what I work on in this unit.\ud83d\udc47<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandalala<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Making a Mandala was pretty easy. Setting it up was easy. The way I made it was not easy. The amount of strokes that I had on my mandala made it really difficult to do anything without Illustrator crashing, for the BW-Mandala. On the other hand the Color Mandala was pretty straight forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

B&W Mandala Artist Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple things I do appreciate about symmetry is the alignment and proximity aspect. Mainly Mandalas are like a mirror room. Creating patterns to offer some very unique rhythms. The thing I do not like about mandalas is, I find most mandalas lack personality. Not saying that all mandalas are bland. I wanted to create a mandala that focuses on personality. It gives you a strong feeling of the mandala itself. The main intention I was aiming for in my peace was one, Goofiness, and two, Unpleasing. To achieve that, I went ahead to take a picture of my mom with a dead stare to use that for inspiration. But mostly this piece was inspired by the movie Everything and Everywhere all at once. and I bought every single thing about this movie. After the inspiration, I went ahead and started creating the mandala in the art software Illustrator. I skewed up the parts that were more interesting, which were the eyes. Then I created the hair. It lagged so bad Hiding\/Showing the hair itself takes 30 sec. Overall I got it done quickly, and I really appreciated the sear sensation of intimidation. Anything that comes with adrenaline is a winner for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Color Mandala<\/strong> Artist Statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had no Idea what I was doing when I was making this piece. During the process I just went with my intuition. It did take a few attempts for the final product, but I\u2019m happy with how it turned out. I was aiming for a mandala with a scene of form and value with a basic analogous color (Blue, and Green), and on the side a subject color. That being Red-Purple. The gradient really does help with the illusion that the mandala itself has layers of flower petals. Then I decided to include something eye-catching in the center. Overall, this would be a pretty cool lamp, If it exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laser Engraved Mandala Artist Statement:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I chose the rose gold plastic material for my mandala because I thought It would work well with the sinister effect of my mandala. The material itself had more of a copper color than what it looked liked in the photo. The red effect came from the reflection of a purple umbrella. It’s unique how light and color work together to make an artwork feel realistic. That goes to static drawings. In Photoshop I purposely added grain to yet again give off the sinister effect with the addition of a vignette. I added drop shadows to my text to make it more visible, and interesting, than making the font look flat. There’s nothing that can go wrong when you add drop shadows to text. That’s all I have to say about the photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
