Documentary

This is the intro to my documentary page. I made this video using after effects.
This is After Effects, which is a powerful adobe app that specializes in creating videos in creative ways. Each layer represents specific parts of the video which includes text (red), images (purple) and audio (green). The many tiny symbols underneath these layers are called key frames which helps these layers control what is what on what time such as fading, audio fade, scale, position, and much more.

Profile Article

For this unit, we were tasked to create a documentary and profile article about an interesting individual in our community for the purpose of better understanding their character and being able to explain their mindset towards other people who are interested. We were inspired to do narrative-style journalism based on research and interviews.

For my documentary, I joined my friend Tyler Crissman to interview an Apple architect and his experience on the architecture industry and how it connects to his personal life.

Meet Do-Ho Lee, an Apple architect who has worked on the architecture industry professionally. He has a complex understanding of his work and because of this, Tyler and I decided it was best to interview him to gain a better understanding of architecture and his life.

I valued many things from this project, but the main things I learned is interacting with people I have never met before and being able to communicate with them so I can learn more about them. This also helped me with better time management skills and working with my crew which was Tyler. Another skill I improved on was editing. Even though there were many things we didn’t have to focus on as much because documentaries and films are different, my editing skills improved, especially in choosing which content should go where because we wanted the audience to have variety when viewing our documentary.

This is my final draft of my research paper on our interviewee and architecture as a whole. I have mostly researched on the importance of architecture and how it affects human minds on a psychological level. I connected this research to Mr. Lee’s values on architecture, his personal life, and his work with Apple.

After hours of writing, revisions, and talks with my english teacher Mr. Greco, I have finally created a magazine featuring an apple architect. I am mostly proud of the design of the pages and how the images connects with the background.
