Everything there was covered in a fair amount of dust, and seemed to be from ages ago. A bit disappointed, I started to walk away, but then I saw that the “Free Items All” sign had some writing on the back as well. This large wooden sign had once been a congratulatory sign, celebrating the previous home-owner’s 100th birthday. When I realized that, I felt a strange connection and sadness for this woman whom I had never met before, realizing that all of these items, from the crochet mouse to the photography magazine, had all been hers before she passed away. What started as a fun detour had led to a connection to a stranger that I had never met before. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I came across this sign one afternoon when I was walking home with a friend. “Cool, free stuff”, we thought, as we walked over to…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-story-telling-blog"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/381","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=381"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/381\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":394,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/381\/revisions\/394"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=381"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=381"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/freestyleacademy.rocks\/~ValorieS\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=381"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
