Art I would add to my Personal Museum

Crisco by Marilyn Minter

I enjoy the detail of painting that makes it look like a photograph until viewed closer up. The unfocused look of the background and parts of the foreground is emphasized by the imperfect nature of painting. I love the way painting is used in both a precise way to capture the detail of the lashes, lighting, and glitter, but also used in a somewhat messy way, like the parts that are painted to reflect the blurriness that comes with photography. It captures the skill of the artist's precision while also showing a less controlled side of it.
