Having no formal prior music theory understanding, I wanted to recreate a song I knew with a different production process. Using AVID ProTools, I was able to digitally create instrument tracks and produce a song.

Goal

My goal for this piece, I wanted to create a piano piece that was accompanied by other percussion-based instruments. Having created this in ProTools using MIDI tools, this was very easy to accomplish through the gallery of thousands of virtual instruments at our disposal. I’m most proud of the way that I was able to play the piano because I have never learned how to play or knew anything about music theory. I learned a lot about how most modern music is created using this type of MIDI virtual instrument.

Screen Shot of Session

Album Art

Reflection
I’m proud of the way that I was able to create a song that emulates some of my favorite acoustic piano songs.
