Hi and welcome to my profile website. Here you can find the different parts I completed during the profile unit at freestyle. For this unit we were given the task to find an interesting person in the community and highlight their unique talents. I chose to profile Andrew Adelman, an avid cyclist and entrepreneur. After trying to decide who to do for my unit, my dad, an associate of Andrew’s suggested him, as not only did he start his own company but he started his own cycling team. Each venture has grown to become successful. as the company has been doing very well in recent times. and the cycling team has become one of the top teams in northern California. For english, we interviewed multiple people and then used the information we had gathered in the interviews and background research to write a 5 page profile paper. Then in design, we transformed that paper into a 6 page magazine, complete with pictures, stylized text, and a motif. To create this magazine we used Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. In Web Audio, we used Adobe After Effects to create a media feature presentation. This presentation proved to be the hardest and most difficult part of the Profile unit as After Effects was a tough program to use and it was the first time I had really used it. Our end product was a condensed version of our essay complete with pictures, text, and a recording of us reading our paper.
The goal of the Profile unit was to portray someone interesting in our community through several different forms of media. Please read through my website to find out about how interesting Andrew Adelman really is!
The media feature was the most difficult part of our project. To create it, we used the program Adobe After Effects to combine our recording of our paper with different images and text from our paper. After Effects was a hard program to use, mostly because it was our first real time using it and it was unlike PhotoShop or Dreamweaver.
