My name is Zoya, I am a sixteen year old junior who goes to Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. I am very interested in art, business and science. I want to grow up to be someone who has a positive impact on the world. I used to be in a private school in Cupertino before I moved to Los Altos in the middle of 7th grade. I enjoy science, specifically chemistry and environmental science and I would love to pursue my love for science to impact the world positively but my passion for creating art was also really important to me. I decided to apply to Freestyle Design to pursue my passion for art.
Some of my core values are grit, transparency, integrity, sympathy, empathy, and tolerance. Grit is passion and perseverance which represents a strong personality. Transparency is important to me as it represents honesty with trust. Integrity because it shows unselfishness. I value both sympathy and empathy because they offer emotional and physical help with understanding and listening. Tolerance is very important to me because no matter what position someone is in being kind and supporting is the right thing to do.
I love to play sports and music. I rock climb and do synchronized swimming. I love climbing because not only does it require skill and strength but logical thinking as well. Synchronized swimming requires a connection between your teammates, synchronicity, and commitment which I value and enjoy participating in. As someone who loves music I now play the drums and have for some time. I really hope to play with a band in the future.
Some of the expectations I have for myself as a Freestyle student were that I learn more forms of art, photography, and writing specifically digitally. I hope to learn how to use Adobe apps efficiently. I hope to increase my insight of technology.
I value my access to all of this high tech equipment that allows me to grow creatively. Freestyle has given me many new opportunities include an english class that focuses on me as a writer, a digital media class that allows me to explore technology artistically. There I am also given the opportunities to learn how to properly use a camera. Since I am a design student I have the opportunity to explore various aspects of design, photography, Adobe, and physical art as well.
